Weekend session images

Recently I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph the winners of the 1st Annual Atlanta Kids Directory Cover Contest. I had fun sessions will all of the children and their families and truly enjoyed getting a chance to meet everyone. The parents of the Grand Prize Winner, Alexander, then hired me to do another session over the weekend that allowed him the extra freedom to run and go wild. It was an absolutely beautiful day and I had a great time (again) trying to capture the incredible personality of "Mr. Happy Face" as he is affectionately called by his friends, family and neighbors. His tremendous personality is just a natural by-product handed down from his parents and even though his radiant mother is set to give birth in a couple short weeks, their excitement and enthusiasm didn't let up a bit. The family is here from Italy which may explain how Alexanders' mom has such a great sense of fashion. I am not sure if they have any direct connections to Milan, but it wouldn't surprise me. It was truly a blessing to meet them and gradually get to know them over the past few weeks. I haven't had a chance to show them their images yet, but wanted to provide a little peek into some random portraits from the session. I hope they will be pleased!

Not easily intimidated...

I had wanted to post a couple of these images from a recent portrait session and totally forgot as I got quite busy. But in doing another session at the same location several weeks later, I happened upon the same dog. Even though I didn't take any images this time of him, it reminded me to post the images from before because I feel folks will get a kick out of them. Enjoy...

Magazine Cover Contest Winners...

I have a sneak peek at the next three covers of The Atlanta Kids Directory. These three children were the winners of the first ever AKD Cover Contest and I had the opportunity to do cover portrait sessions of each child individually. All of the kids were extremely worthy of their selections and all of the sessions were a blast. One common thread among each child is that all three had great parents that were very involved in the sessions. The first child, Alexander, was the Grand Prize Winner as chosen by Online voting on the AKD website. He was followed by Shelby who was Runner-up and then blond haired, blue eyed Nate who was third Runner-up. Be sure to check back in the coming days for more images from each individual session.

Chloe and Seth...

I had the pleasure recently to photograph two young siblings, Chloe and Seth. This was my first opportunity to meet them and in the beginning they were a bit shy. Of course this is quite normal and somewhat natural as they have no idea who this guy with the camera is. After a few minutes of talking to them and asking their likes and dislikes ( ice cream, school, etc) I suggested we go outside and they could play in the yard. Talk about a tale of two personalities! Inside they were quiet and reserved, outside it was off to the races! It just really re-enforces the fact that I really need to lose those extra lbs around my waist. It was a chore to keep up with them and I yet again had to fall back on my previous sports/action experience. They were really fun to be around. I was curious to see how they would get along with each other as I'm always trying to get a glimpse into the future of how my two children will co-exist. Other than a few minutes of normal harassing, I could really see the love between them. Seth looks to be the athlete and Chloe the artist. She drew an amazing picture while I was there and it seemed to flow so naturally. She had such an outgoing and warm personality and smile. I hope I conveyed that enough in the portraits...
